Purpose: to call upon Isis, the ancient goddess of Egypt, for
prophecies revealed through immediate visions (sometimes these arrive later in
the dream state).
Fill a cauldron or large, black iron pot half-full of fresh water. Add a handful of buttercup, marigold, or rose petals. Light incense of sage (also used for protection) or burn some thyme, lavender, or patchouli, or add the oils to your water. Stir the cauldron/pot gently in a deosil (clockwise) motion while chanting:
Into the threads of time I cast my thoughts,
To catch a glimpse of what will be!
Oh Goddess of Egypt, bring to my mind,
The lovely gift of prophecy!
Look deep into the cauldron and wait for visions to unfold. You don't need to request insight into any particular matter using this method, simply clear your mind and gaze deep into the water, allowing your eyes to blur as the visions communicate with your mind. Remember, never try to force your mind to experience visions, images, omens, portents, or prophecies. These things are to be perceived, not created. Our subconscious minds should register the information received, not influence it. If the messages have a specific personal meaning, be as honest with yourself as possible, rather than attempting to translate what you are experiencing to suit your own situation.
